【New Product Launch】Awinic Empowers the Launch of ASUS ROG9 with 6-Axis Anti-Shake Hybrid Gimbal 4.0
As a pioneer in the gaming smartphone segment, the ROG gaming smartphone – ASUS ROG9 – has been officially released. ROG stands for high performance and an ultimate user experience. The main camera of the ASUS ROG9 is equipped with a 6-axis anti-shake Hybrid Gimbal 4.0, which incorporates Awinic’s integrated OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) Driver IC and provides ±5° motion compensation. This powerful collaboration delivers stable and premium imaging effects, offering users a visual feast.

Handheld gimbals/stabilizers are primarily used to secure devices such as smartphones and cameras. They utilize built-in motors and sensors to detect and compensate for device shakes in real time, thereby ensuring stable shooting footage. Micro-gimbals, by contrast, cleverly "fit" the bulky gimbal structure into the limited space of a smartphone. With the synergy of components like dual-ball suspensions and voice coil motors, they achieve 100% overall anti-shake for the module.
Currently, the anti-shake angle of most micro-gimbal devices is typically around ±3°. However, the 6-axis anti-shake Hybrid Gimbal 4.0 – integrated with Awinic’s OIS Driver IC and paired with Awinic’s fully independently developed OIS optical anti-shake algorithm, the "Jingdouyun" OIS Algorithm – has achieved a breakthrough in anti-shake angle, reaching ±5°. This superior anti-shake performance ensures stable and clear footage even when shooting in dynamic scenarios, propelling smartphone photography to a new level.
Awinic has successfully completed the ±5° upgraded micro-gimbal project and supported ASUS in achieving mass production, making it one of the few domestic IC companies with micro-gimbal mass production experience. This marks a successful attempt of Awinic chips in new application solutions and another outstanding case of mutually beneficial cooperation with customers.
Beyond smartphones, micro-gimbal anti-shake technology can also be applied to devices that require large-angle anti-shake and high stability, such as action cameras and drone cameras, presenting broad application prospects.
