Sun Hongjun, CEO of Awinic is Selected by the Third Patch of the Ten-thousand Talents Program

Recently,Notice on Issuing List of The Third Batch of Selected Personnel of National High-level Personnel Special Support Programwas issued by office of the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CCCPC). Sun Hongjun, CEO and General Manager of Awinic was selected as the sci-tech entrepreneurial leading talent of the National High-level Personnel Special Support Program after being the selectee of the "National Innovative and Entrepreneurial Talent Advancement Program".


What is the National High-level Personnel Special Support Program?


National High-level Personnel Special Support Program, namely the National Ten Thousand Talents Program, is a high-level personnel support plan for national outstanding talents, leading talents and young excellent talents in fields of natural science, engineering technology, philosophy and social sciences. It aims to speed up the cultivation of a number of high-level innovative and entrepreneurial talents for the construction of an innovation-oriented country.


The third batch of selected personnel of the program includes talents of five categories in two levels. 1635 people were chosen in total, including 367 sci-tech entrepreneurial leading talents.


National Ten Thousand Talents Program: "choose the best among the excellent"


As a national major talent project, the key of implementation lies in choosing good and appropriate objects.


In the selection process, as the implementation body of declaration and review, all departments will gather experts to have communication review, conference review, interview and organize assessment to determine the recommended candidates in compliance with the principle of peer review.


In terms of the selection criteria, the National Ten Thousand Talents Program focuses on the ability, performance and quality of the candidates. Ability inspection includes innovation capacity, scientific research level and potential development; performance inspection not only includes achievements attained but contains influence on scientific and technological progress as well as economic and social development; quality inspection treats academic ethics, scientific and technological spirit and humanistic literacy as important contents of investigation.


What Kind of Support Will the Selectee Receive?


For the selected candidates, besides the original support by relevant departments and units, the country will offer direct special support and special conditions to form the integration effect. The special support includes:


— Financial support. For the scientific and technological innovation leading talents, philosophy and social sciences leading talents, New Century Project's leading talents and top teachers, 100 million yuan per person will be arranged for independent research, personnel training and team-building, etc.. Local government and employing units may also provide appropriate support.


— Policy support. Key training support policies are formulated regarding scientific research management, career platform, personnel system, the use of funds, assessment and evaluation, incentive and protection, and other aspects.


— Service support. As required, leading talents that contribute prominently can also be incorporated into high-level experts that can directly contact the CCCPC.


Why is Sun Hongjun?


Sun Hongjun, nicknamed "bro 83", was born in 1973. Legend has it his nickname comes from his young-looking appearance, who seems to be born in the 80s rather than in the 70s. Graduated in 1997, Sun Hongjun first worked in Huawei for IC design. He continued to innovate in analog IC, mixed-signal IC and algorithms and led the project team complete the first commercial mixed-signal chip in China.


In 2002, Sun Hongjun started up business for the first time and set power supply chip and power chip that were in large market demand as the main technical direction, and achieved good market feedback.

Till now, "Awinic chip" has entered all domestic mobile phone brands and owns the first customer coverage among the similar domestic manufacturers.
